Quick side note before I get to this gorgeous family – I’d like to mention that my calendar is booking quickly for the fall. I have only got 12 remaining appointments for ‘09 Fall family or child sessions. If you need a family or child session this fall, we are extremely limited, so get on the books now!! Is that enough of a kick in the pants?
On to the good stuff!
It’s always amusing to me when people assume that my job is difficult and exhausting! Honestly, aside from hanging out with my own kids and family, I can’t imagine a better way to spend a work day.
Families rock. I mean, truly, they ROCK. I love photographing families and capturing that connection between parents and their kids. This family is certainly no exception.. amazingly beautiful child, stunning parents, and such a great disposition and love between them. Can’t you just SEE how stunning this little one will be in 10 years? Gorgeous!
So – here are my faves… I chose six because I couldn’t NOT choose six.

So, I had this session on Saturday (yes, that’s right folks, I’m blogging about a session I shot YESTERDAY… I’m turning over a new, less procrastinating leaf) – and I meet this “R” – a little girl who is absolutely amazing. Shy at first, but a little foot race took care of that, and we were good to go. So, it turns out that R (who is 7 and three quarters – don’t forget the 3/4) loves all things weird. Gravestones, scary stories, and the movie Coraline.
I’ve been afraid to watch Coraline because I don’t like scary stuff – but I left the session thinking that if a 7 (and 3/4) year old can watch it and love it, then I could too. I watched it – I LOVED IT – and now I’m recommending it. If you haven’t seen it – you should. In the words of the dad from this session, “it’s the best children’s movie I’ve seen of all the movies I’ve been forced to watch over the past 6 years.” It really, TRULY is. So, to R and her rockin parents, thanks for the tip! I loved it!
On to the pictures.
I love that it’s fall and I get to break out my cool hats…
I love the coloring in this.. the morning sun, the slight change in the fall leaves – they said they never had really good wedding photos, so I had to give them something, and I really think this is something striking.
Lastly – I have no idea if this IS little miss R, but I love it anyway. She is so serene, and contemplative… and I don’t know why exactly, but this one draws me in.

There’s really not much to say except that it’s JUST NOT FAIR. How is it that I see SO many women who have these little bitty perfect bellies? When I was pregnant, I was a house… literally, as.big.as.a.HOUSE.
I love this session. Some of my favorite maternity images ever…These are three of my very favorites, but rest assured there are so many more that I love just as much (but they’re a little bit too “exposed” to post online.. sorry!)

It was a beautifully perfect day for a session. Cloudy (semi) skies, great temperature, and a family that I just love! This is my 2nd year with these twins, and each year I have the best time! They have a TON more energy this year than last… but I think I kept up pretty well! The thing I love most about this family in particular is the complete love and joy they emit. In their words, their actions, and even in the way they interact together – there’s something contagious about it! You cannot spend a day with these guys and NOT be happy.
I couldn’t just choose a few images.. there are too many! so, six of my faves…

Birthdays are a time to have fun, let loose, and steal the spotlight (if you’re the Birthday Girl)! As my birthday is coming up this weekend, I have many birthday events to attend in my honor and I still have yet to find the perfect birthday dress. Last year, I had an amazing birthday and had the perfect dress to go with it and now I am feeling the pressure to make this one even better. A little birdie told me to check out polyvore.com for inspiration and I found so many beautiful pieces to fall in love with. Here are a few that I hope to take a note from and make them my own…
I really think that the details make the outfit and I love the detailed beading and embroidery on this dress. It gives the dress a little bit of sparkle without going over the top. The lace accents and airy ruffles make this dress extra feminine. The dress has a delicate, vintage feel that I adore, but the white is not a good color for my fair skin.

(chickdowntown.com- $550)
The next dress is the complete opposite of the first, but has some similar elements. This LBD has a sweetheart neckline that adds the femininity I liked in the first dress, but its simplicity in form and zipper detail make this dress a little more bold. It has a tougher look that stands in stark contrast to the numerous girly details of the white dress. At polyvore.com, I found an almost identical dress for $68 from ardenb.com (which is already a steal!), but this one is from forever21.com and will definitely leave plenty of room in my wallet for some amazing shoes and accessories!

(forever21.com, $23)
I love the simplicity of black and white, but some bright color is always nice to add a little punch to an outfit. These three dresses take a basic black top and pair it with a vibrant skirt piece that makes them mature, but fun! I could see myself wearing the first two out to a birthday dinner then out for drinks and the third is a little more casual- perfect for a birthday lunch.

(blue dress- oli.co.uk, $49, pink dress- oli.co.uk, $115, multi dress- forever21.com, $19.80)
This last dress is a perfect option because the color makes it stand out without being obnoxious, and the style can transition from day to dinner to evening. Add sandals for a day look, heels and a cardigan for dinner, and then bold accessories for a night out on the town! I really like that the little feminine touches make it something special and it accents the Birthday Girl’s radiance, but doesn’t steal the show.

(ardenb.com, $78)
hehe… there are no words for the faces this little girl was making – but every time she did I just CRACKED up. lol… I am totally head over heels for these kids, and I fell in love with the four legged kiddo as well… great day, great session… the perfect way to lead into this beautiful fall weather we’re having! I have a feeling this little pink dress is the last sundress I’ll see this year…

tell me this doesn’t make you smile??

You know, I like sleep. I love my bed, snuggling in at night and waking up in the morning feeling refreshed. My children, however, no matter what day it is, wake up with the Sun. It’s irritating, really – and I find myself wondering frequently if they will ever learn the beautiful pleasure of sleeping beyond 6 a.m. When does THAT happen?
Alas.. I love them – and I totally understand how some of these new parents feel when they come into my studio. There’s nothing quite like a newborn baby who’s awake and ready to roll! This little one was the sweetest little thing, and even at just 3 weeks old, she has a strong dislike for sleep! Thankfully, though, you pair two relaxed and easy going parents with this beautiful baby and you’ve got a recipe for perfection! (mom, coincidentally, is the picture at the top of my blog!)

one sleepy shot… just one though!
