It’s not often that I get a baby who is one month old in my studio and HAPPY. Usually, they are fussy, they want to sleep, but they can’t sleep because goodness knows there is so much to look at with this new expanded vision! So, they typically cry. A LOT.
This little girl is deliciousness wrapped in a cute pink bow. She was pleasant, totally alert, and happy to play in the room with the flashing lights. She didn’t cry, she didn’t mind our fussing with her, and she didn’t even pitch a fit when her mom pulled out this CUTE hat for her to model for us. There’s nothing quite as adorable as this, right?

There’s nothing quite like a cold, rainy, drizzled day to get the blood flowing! We shot this at the John Dickinson Plantation down in Dover, Delaware. It was rainy, but the weather was perfectly suited for these two kids, and I LOVE that their mom and dad are from the North Western US and the rain didn’t phase them a bit. Trust me, I tried to reschedule (dude – it was COLD and WET, and under armour can only go so far!) but I’m so glad they talked me into sucking it up and shooting anyway. Beautiful, beautiful.

Really it’s no exaggeration when I say that my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets when this little darling was carried into my studio draped in a custom pink skull and crossbones blanket, wearing a custom zebra printed fuzzy jacket, and my heart nearly stopped when her gorgeous mom pulled a brown hat with a skull and crossbones symbol out for her to wear. H E A V E N!
Beautiful baby. Beautiful parents. Fun was had by all!
It really is no surprise the styling that came with this little bundle… her mom runs a fantastic spa in Elkton Maryland. Envy Spa and Salon is located off of Bridge Street and they offer amazing spa treatments from hair, to nails, to facials to massage. Take a minute to check out their website and try it for yourself!

One of my new year’s resolutions is to cook more. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the process – the cleanup, the mixing, the waiting, blah blah blah… it’s all too much. But, I’m giving it my all, and trying at least 1 new recipe a week. This week’s recipe was AWESOME. If they all went this easily I might just cook a little more.
~~ Yum!!!
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged!! This fall season has brought SO many changes to our studio, and not only have we moved our studio location to Hockessin, but this fall season has been CRAZY busy with sessions!! So, to kick off my little recommitment to blogging, I thought I’d throw up a session that is so near and dear to me. This is Alissa’s family – so many of you know Alissa as one of the fabulous women behind our studio, and I was so thankful to have the opportunity to photograph her children for the 3rd year in a Row!
We spent the day at Longwood Gardens - amazing kids, insane adults and me! what’s better than that?!?

Longwood Gardens certainly is the hot spot this year! Last year, we rocked it out in Old New Castle, but this year, it’s all about Longwood… and I love it!
18 months and on the MOVE. This little guy gave me (and his mom and dad) a run for our money! What a fun, exciting age – to explore and smile and just have no worries in the world. How nice would it be to embrace that for just 1 day? Soon, his life will be flipped on its axis – mom’s having another baby soon! I can’t wait to see the changes in this little man as he grows, and as he realizes his big brother status… what a journey!
some of my favorites…

What a beautiful location!! I never know what I’m going to find when I arrive at a client’s house, and sometimes I’m taken aback by the sheer beauty surrounding this area. We shot these at their home, which is surrounded by nature’s beauty every which way you look.. tall trees, beautiful fall colors, and just peace and silence. I truly fell in love with this location!
So much fun, a genuinely HAPPY family, and really stunning photographs.

I can remember this guy when he was just a little peanut on his dad’s arm.. it’s always so amazing to me how different these kids look when they come back a year later. They look nothing like that wrinkled, new baby I photographed – and it’s the most joyous thing for me to see them growing so vibrantly!
We shot at Gibraltar with a wandering child, chased by his parents, and all three of them chased by 4 grandparents! So fun!

We were shooting at Gibraltar – about 10 seconds before the rain descended upon us – and it was a spectacular day! Two great kids who loved to explore, and LOVED to be photographed… it’s so great when I find that connection to a family, or to two kids, and it’s even better when it comes through my lens just the way I intended for it to.

The place? Ridley Creek State Park.
The day? perfectly awesome.
The people? Three boys, two parents and two grandparents.
There’s something different about the parents of boys. They are relaxed, fun, and dirt doesn’t phase them. I love that! It’s not even just having one boy that transforms you though.. you have to have them in multiples to fully appreciate the force a pack of boys can have. It’s truly an amazing thing, and I can really see that one day, when these three are all grown up, and they finally like each other, there isn’t anything they won’t be able to do. This pack is strong!
We had the BEST time shooting these pictures, and it’s capturing images like the ones that follow that really make me love my job, and this gift that I can share. Thank you so much to the “B” family for a fabulous day, and a great time!
Probably my new favorite sibling image of all time. We had just rolled down the hill for fun at the end of our session, and the smiles were the most genuine of the day…

I have beautiful smiling, happy pictures of this little guy, but this one is my FAVORITE. Gap Kids, anyone?
