Someone recently asked me what my favorite subject is to photograph. It took me a minute, but I finally decided that I love to shoot maternity. The beautiful form of an expectant mother is nothing short of perfect. No matter what your size, your nationality, your hair color – it doesn’t matter – pregnancy is like snow and it has this unbelievable way of making everything universally amazing. I love to capture the gorgeous excitement of anticipation – it’s my very favorite thing to do.
This session was one of those sessions that left me feeling like I really did capture what I was looking for. Mom is exhausted – as any expectant mom in the home stretch – but even through utter exhaustion, she’s stunning, isn’t she?

There are two things that get me really excited about photographing a maternity session: 1. that awesome “glow” every pregnant woman has. 2. when that pregnant woman shows up with something unique and interesting to wear.
We shot these in our Hockessin studio, and so many of them are too intimate to showcase here, but these are 3 of my favorites!

There’s really not much to say except that it’s JUST NOT FAIR. How is it that I see SO many women who have these little bitty perfect bellies? When I was pregnant, I was a house… literally, as.big.as.a.HOUSE.
I love this session. Some of my favorite maternity images ever…These are three of my very favorites, but rest assured there are so many more that I love just as much (but they’re a little bit too “exposed” to post online.. sorry!)

I love that the excitement of a new baby always brings great energy to my maternity sessions, and that was especially true of this fun family! This was simply one amazing family!!
