It's your business and yet:

You know something isn't working

You can feel it in the numbers. The effort.

The way something that used to work suddenly doesn't.

You probably have a theory about the why

Maybe you need more clients.
Better marketing.
A new offer.
Higher prices.
More consistency.
A better funnel.
Someone to finally take Instagram off your plate.

Maybe.

But before you spend the next six months fixing it:

Let's make sure that's actually the problem.

Most business advice starts with the solution.

Post more.

Build the funnel.

Raise your prices.

Start the membership.

Run ads.

Grow your email list.

Hire a VA.

Create recurring revenue.

The problem is that none of those things are inherently good advice.

They're only good advice if they solve the problem you actually have.

And when you're inside your business every day, it can be incredibly hard to tell the difference between the problem you can see and the thing that's actually causing it.

That's where I come in.

We look upstream.

At its core, a business is a system.

People find you.

They understand what you do.

They decide whether they want it.

Some buy.

You deliver.

Money moves through the business.

And somehow, the whole thing has to continue working without requiring increasingly ridiculous amounts of your time, money and sanity.

When something stops working, the blockage isn't necessarily where the symptom appears.

And that's exactly the problem. Most business advisors treat the symptoms without ever looking upstream to find the block.

Instead of immediately prescribing more marketing, I look at the whole business through seven pressure points.

DEMAND

Are enough of the right people finding you?

Sometimes you really do need more traffic. We'll figure out whether that's true before you go create another 47 Reels.

DISTINCTION

Do people understand why they should choose you?

Being visible doesn't matter much if the people finding you can't tell why you're different, relevant or worth choosing.

DESIRABLE

Do people actually want what you're selling in the way you're selling it?

There may be demand for the outcome without demand for your particular offer, format, price or package.

DROP OFF

Where do interested people stop moving?

They're clicking, opening, asking, browsing or almost buying. We'll find where they're disappearing, and why.

DELIVERY

Does the business deliver what it promised?

What happens after the sale matters. Returns, cancellations, retention, repeat purchases, referrals and customer experience can tell us something your revenue alone can't.

DRIVERS

What's actually driving the business?

Which offers, customers, channels and activities are producing the real results? Which ones just keep you busy? We'll follow the money instead of guessing.

DURABILITY

Can this business keep working this way? Can YOU keep working this way?

A business can be profitable and still ask far too much of the person running it. We'll look at complexity, capacity, workload and whether the business you're building is one you actually want to own.

We're not trying to improve all seven.

Your business probably has 900 things we could improve.

I don't care about 897 of them right now.

I'm looking for the two or three things that are most relevant to what's keeping you stuck.

The bottleneck.

The thing upstream that's creating problems farther down.

The opportunity you're overlooking because you're busy trying to fix something else.

The goal isn't to leave with more things to do.

It's to finally know what deserves your attention.

What an Undercurrent Intensive Looks Like

First, I get pretty nosy.

Before we meet, I'll collect the information I need to understand your business.

I'll want to know what's been happening, what you're selling, where customers come from, what's making money, what's changed, what you've already tried and what you currently believe the problem is.

Depending on your business, I may want to see things like your website, offers, analytics, sales numbers, email performance, customer behavior or other relevant information.

I'm not looking for a perfectly organized corporate data room.

I just want enough evidence to stop us from guessing.

Then, I dig in.

Before our intensive, I'll review what you've given me through the seven pressure points.

I'll look for patterns.

Contradictions.

Things that don't make sense.

Things you're doing incredibly well and should absolutely not touch.

Places where the numbers don't match the story.

And questions I need you to answer before I'm willing to tell you what I'd change.

We'll spend 90 minutes together

This isn't a typical, scripted coaching call.

I'll ask questions.

Probably enough to fluster you.

I'll tell you what I'm noticing.

We'll challenge assumptions.

Follow interesting threads.

Look at what's working and what's not.

And we'll keep looking upstream until we have a much clearer picture of what the hell is actually happening in your business.

You'll leave your intensive knowing this

What's actually working.

What's probably creating the blockaage for you.

What I'd stop doing.

What I'd leave completely alone.

What I'd change.

What I think you should do first.

And most importantly:

What deserves your attention for the next 90 days.

Not everything you could possibly improve.

The things that matter now.

But that's not everything.

We need to check the hypothesis.

Because I'm not interested in pretending strategy is fortune-telling.

There's a difference between:

FACT: what the evidence establishes.

HYPOTHESIS what the evidence suggests may be happening.

PRESCRIPTION: what we have enough evidence to recommend changing.

The goal is to make better decisions based on evidence instead of panic.

That's why we'll reconnect about four weeks later for a 30-minute follow-up.

What changed?

What did we learn?

Did our hypothesis hold up?

Do we keep going or do we need to make adjustments?

IS THIS FOR YOU?

LET'S FIND OUT

THIS IS PROBABLY FOR YOU IF:

  • Your business has already demonstrated that it can work.

  • You've made sales. You've had customers.

  • You've built something, but now you're stuck, plateaued, confused, overwhelmed by options, or simply aware that the business isn't working as well as it could.

  • You're willing to show me the numbers and you HAVE numbers to show

  • You're willing to hear that the thing you thought was wrong might not be wrong.

  • And you're looking for clarity and direction, not someone to hold you accountable every Tuesday at 2 PM

THIS PROBABLY ISN'T FOR YOU IF:

  • You're starting your first business and haven't sold enough to have data yet.

  • You already know exactly what you need and simply need someone to execute it.

  • You're looking specifically for a social media manager, ads manager, funnel builder or copywriter.

  • You want a plug-and-play formula that tells you exactly what every successful business should do.

  • You want ongoing weekly coaching.

That's not what this is.

I don't arrive with the answer.

I arrive with questions.

Then we figure out where your business needs to go from there.

Hi, I'm Jessica

I've spent roughly 20 years building businesses, marketing them, teaching people how to market theirs, and noticing things.

That's probably the simplest explanation for why this work exists.

I notice things.

Patterns.

Disconnects.

What's working and what's not.

The thing everybody is staring at versus the thing nobody seems to be asking about.

There's never a shortage of advice out there telling you to do MORE

In recent years the Universe bitch has slapped me in ways that still give me whiplash to think about, and out of all of that I was left with a singular understanding:

What actually matters?

Because more isn't always the answer.

More traffic isn't useful if the offer sucks.

More customers aren't particularly helpful if you're losing money serving them.

More revenue isn't necessarily better if every additional dollar requires more of a business you already resent.

And growth isn't automatically the goal.

The goal is to build a business that works, but more importantly: a business that works for the person who owns it.

That's the work I am interested in.

I came in convinced I had the problem of not using social media well enough to get clients. Within 30 minutes, Jessica showed me that I had an offer problem. I was trying to get more people into something that wasn't converting the people I already had.

Shelby T.

Interior Designer

I was legitimately ready to hire someone to run ads because I thought I needed more leads. Jessica was like "woah girl" and promptly showed me that I already had plenty of traffic, but the problem was what happened after people got to my site. She absolutely saved me thousands of dollars and months of frustration.

Emily G.

Life Coach

Jessica noticed that the offer I was barely talking about was actually responsible for most of my profit, while the thing I was spending most of my time promoting wasn't doing much for the business. I was ready to either throw in the towel or throw money at more social media. 1 hour with Jessica and that river is flowing again.

UNDERCURRENT INTENSIVE

An outside brain for the business you're too close to see clearly.

No long-term contract.

No weekly coaching.

No giant curriculum to work through.

No obligation to hire me to implement anything afterward.

Just a deep look at your business, a lot of very specific questions, and an experienced outside perspective on what I'd actually fix first.

Why do I have to apply?

Because this work isn't right for every business, and that's okay.

The application helps me make sure you're at a stage where an Undercurrent Session can actually help, and that what you're struggling with is something I can meaningfully dig into. I don't want to take your money just because you're willing to give it to me.

Once you apply, I'll review it personally. If I think we're a good fit, you'll get an email with next steps for booking your session.

If we're not, I'll tell you that too.

One last thing:

You might come into this convinced you need more clients.

And maybe you do.

But maybe you already have enough people finding you and your distinction is muddy.

Maybe your distinction is excellent and the offer isn't desirable.

Maybe people want the offer and something is creating drop-off.

Maybe sales are perfectly healthy and delivery is quietly eating your profit.

Maybe the business is doing better than you think and you're putting 80% of your energy into something that drives 10% of the result.

Or maybe everything works

and the business is simply asking too much of YOU.

We don't know yet.

That's the point.

Let's stop guessing and look upstream.
